Quick and Easy Easter Tea Basket

Finding the perfect Easter basket can be challenging. I can't tell you how many times I've peered through the ready made baskets on shelves only to find mediocre baskets filled with things that I'd pick through.

So I started thinking. What kind of basket would be cute and versatile enough to give to just about anyone? Well, a tea basket of course.

We've put together some ideas to help you quickly and easily create an amazing Easter basket that will be used well beyond Easter.

Bear in mind that some of the links in this post are affiliate links and if you go through them to make a purchase I will earn a commission. The companies we link to are those we like because of the  quality of their products. But it's always your decision whether or not to buy something. These are solely our recommendations.

That said, let's get to some easy basket ideas.

Quick and Easy Easter Tea Basket

This basket is very simplistic with more of a feminine tea party feel. This could very easily be turned into a basket that's a bit more masculine for the male teal lover. There are just so many options for tea because it's well loved by so many people. Another great thing about these baskets is that it doesn't have to be very expensive. So here are a few examples of what you can use to easily put one together.

What Baskets Do I Use?

Basket options are endless. For this one, we chose a round, wooden chip basket with a handle. It's a pretty straightforward basket without a lot of frills, giving us the option to add our own embellishments or just let the goodies in the basket shine.

You could easily use a rattan style basket or a small wooden style crate, which make nice baskets/containers well after Easter.

What I love about using natural woods is that you can stain them and make them your own. These guys can be used well beyond Easter.
Another, fancier option is to use a hat box. It makes a perfect basket for someone who loves more of a chic, feminine style.

Or if you're feeling really creative, you can also design your own hat box to give it a more unique look. Paper mache hat boxes are really cool to work with and would be perfect if you want to personalize your basket a little more.

Basket Filling Ideas

The next thing we do is line the basket with a heavier paper. We use brown kraft shipping paper, but newspaper would work just as well. You need a heavy enough base to hold up your items.

Crumble up your brown paper or newspaper into the bottom of your box or basket and cover it really well with a prettier basket filler. We used raffia, but paper or wood excelsior shreds are also a nice touch.

Numi is a personal favorite because it's organic, aromatic and the taste is amazing.
Harney & Sons also has really good flavor and aromatics. Rooibos is one of my all time faves because it's great for the immune system and it has a smooth fruity taste.
Our votives are back! These come in sets of three to make it easy to stuff one or two in a basket for someone special and also keep one for yourself. They're small, but they can fill up a space, making them a perfect addition.

Adding a bouquet to your basket will give your special someone a beautiful bouquet to place in a vase after the Easter basket is used. It also adds quite a bit of elegance to the basket, itself.
To make this more masculine, it's easy to replace the tea cup with a mug and maybe a little rooibos chai and a movie. You could also make it into a coffee basket with LaVazaa coffee. Here's an idea from a recent Instagram post.
