Celebrating With Foor's Fantastic Cupcakes

Dawn Mayo

Hey everyone! It's Friday, and I'm so excited to be able to share some "real" food with you today. We had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday recently, and I asked a friend of mine to make some cupcakes to help with the celebration. As I encourage my girls to be creative in the kitchen, we usually do the baking for birthdays ourselves. But this past holiday season, I had the pleasure of vending right next to a wonderful cupcake vendor, and we quickly hit it off.

With our season of birthdays approaching and (my issue of limited time) with all of the pies we've had to create for an upcoming broadway play, I quickly ran to Michelle to see if she could come to my rescue with some of her cute (and yummy) cupcakes.

Why Michelle? Well, when you watch a vendor sell thousands of dollars of cupcakes at an event where the traffic is just mediocre, it's not rocket science that there's something pretty good about those cupcakes. Sooo I decided to contact her and see if she could whip some up for my duaghter's birthday party, and she was available.

Now, you have to know that my girls are crazy about these cupcakes. I guess when you're sitting right beside the cupcake lady, and you're being extra nice to her (and helping her while she's swamped with customers), you may just get a cupcake or two to sample. Seriously, I wasn't being nice just to get cupcakes, but it was definitely a great thing that I was. I got to sample those Squealing Pig cupcakes (maple bacon) that I made sure to order for the party!

We also ordered her chocolate on chocolate, red velvet, Mountain Dew, and mint chocolate (along with the maple bacon). Here's what they looked like before we'd completely set up for the party.

I'm telling you it was such a treat and a huge surprise when my birthday girl realized that Michelle did her cupcakes, and after a brief pause, she knew just by looking. Everyone loved them, and we're now talking about when we'll get Michelle to do more. Good thing we have another birthday in four weeks!

You can check out Foor's Sweet Tooth Sweeties on Facebook. Though her store is listed as permanently closed, she's still cupcaking. So head over and check her out and tell her Dawn sent you. ;)
